Akbar S. Babar Criticizes PTI Lawmakers for Ignoring Protest Call

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founding member Akbar S. Babar has criticized the party’s lawmakers for allegedly ignoring a call to gather outside the Islamabad High Court.

In a statement, Babar said that what he described as “intruders occupying the party” were staging a political drama and had little to do with easing the difficulties faced by PTI workers and supporters in detention.

He questioned the party’s position that PTI founder Imran Khan was being held in isolation while, on the other hand, allegedly issuing instructions from Adiala Jail for all PTI parliamentarians to stage a protest outside the Islamabad High Court so that cases could be heard quickly.

Babar said the situation became even more ironic when the majority of PTI parliamentarians allegedly ignored the call for a protest outside the Islamabad High Court.

He added that the era of those he described as “clowns” was coming to an end.
