Video of Suspect ‘Pinky’ Produced in Court Without Handcuffs Goes Viral in Karachi

KARACHI: A video showing arrested suspect Anmol alias “Pinky” being presented in a Karachi court without handcuffs has gone viral on social media, prompting senior police officials to take notice of the matter.
The suspect was produced before a local court during hearings related to narcotics recovery and illegal weapons cases registered against her at Garden Police Station.
During the proceedings, the Judicial Magistrate South sent the accused to jail on judicial remand. The investigating officer informed the court that two packets of hashish and other narcotics-related material had been recovered from the suspect.
Police further stated that the seized drugs were valued at more than Rs 1.5 million and requested a 14-day physical remand for further investigation.
Following media coverage of the incident, Additional IG Karachi Azad Khan took strict notice of the suspect being brought to court without handcuffs and sought an immediate report from the DIG South.

He also ordered an inquiry to determine the role of the officers concerned, stating that violations of the law and standard operating procedures would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
According to police officials, disciplinary action is likely against those found responsible for failing to follow proper security protocols during the court appearance.
