Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party Condemns Obstruction of Imran Khan’s Treatment, Fully Supports Parliament Protest

**Quetta:** Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party has expressed strong support for the ongoing peaceful sit-in at Parliament House, Islamabad, organized by the Tehreek-e-Tahafuz-e-Aain Pakistan, in protest against the government’s alleged obstruction of medical treatment for former Prime Minister and PTI founder Imran Khan.
In an official statement, the party criticized what it described as a “non-human, non-political, and anti-democratic” approach by government authorities that is depriving a popular national leader of necessary medical care, in violation of national law, the constitution, and international human rights standards. The statement emphasized that it is the responsibility of political, democratic, and civil society actors to raise their voice against this injustice.
The statement highlighted the broader governance issues, claiming that corruption, economic mismanagement, and flawed foreign policy have weakened the country’s institutions, hindered industrial and agricultural productivity by 50%, and limited employment opportunities for citizens. It also criticized the erosion of political stability, democratic institutions, parliamentary authority, judiciary, and media independence.
The party urged the international community and Pakistan’s 25 crore citizens to demand accountability from “incompetent elements” responsible for past manipulations of electoral processes, particularly the controversial enforcement of Form 47 on February 8, 2024. It called for transparent, impartial elections to ensure a genuinely representative parliament.
Finally, Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party demanded that Imran Khan be provided full access to medical treatment, that unconstitutional and unlawful punishments against him be lifted, and that all political prisoners be released.
