Federal Minister Sardar Muhammad Yousuf Criticizes PTI, Highlights Hajj Preparations and Call for New Administrative Units

Karachi: Federal Minister for Religious Affairs, Sardar Muhammad Yousuf, criticized Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, saying that while PTI claimed to create a “New Pakistan,” it not only failed to deliver but also “destroyed the old.” He made these remarks during a visit to Hajj Camp in Karachi.
Addressing the media, Sardar Muhammad Yousuf emphasized that Hajj pilgrims are ambassadors of Pakistan, and the federal government is taking steps to provide them with the best facilities for 2026. He expressed gratitude to Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for exemplary cooperation in facilitating Hajj arrangements.
He provided updates on Hajj preparations, stating that the first phase of pilgrim training has been completed and the second phase will begin after Ramadan. A total of 29,000 pilgrims from Sindh will depart via Karachi. Over 24,000 pilgrims have received training, and the government is taking additional steps to ensure that all pilgrims face no difficulties in Saudi Arabia while maintaining discipline.
On administrative reforms, Sardar Muhammad Yousuf called for the creation of new provinces or administrative units to address local issues. He said the federal government is actively working within its powers, and highlighted the longstanding governance PTI enjoyed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, criticizing the party for failing to create new provinces like Hazara despite passing resolutions in the provincial assembly three times.
He also appreciated the Punjab government for providing stipends to mosque imams, calling it a virtuous initiative. Addressing PTI’s legal challenges, he noted that several party leaders are facing ongoing cases and sentences.
The minister reiterated that new provinces or administrative units are essential to resolve public issues and emphasized that the government is committed to pursuing such reforms.
