PTI May Announce Islamabad March at Any Time, Says Sheikh Waqas Akram

Peshawar: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership may announce a march toward Islamabad at any time, party Secretary General Sheikh Waqas Akram said on Friday, citing growing concerns over the health of the party’s founding chairman.
Speaking at a press conference at the Peshawar Press Club, Akram said the nation was deeply worried and protesting following a medical report presented by lawyer Salman Safdar regarding the health of PTI founder Imran Khan.
He expressed concern over the absence of family members during Khan’s eye examination and criticized what he described as delays in issuing a written court order, despite 24 hours having passed. Akram said the founder should be allowed treatment by his personal physician immediately and called for legal action against the provincial prisons minister.
The PTI leader alleged that the current government was responsible for the deterioration of Imran Khan’s eyesight and questioned why a former prime minister could not be admitted to a hospital for proper medical care.
Akram said nationwide protests were underway and urged citizens to pray for the PTI founder during Friday prayers. He added that the party’s core committee had expressed strong reactions during its meeting and that members had also proposed an Islamabad march.
Despite reservations over a recent Supreme Court decision, Akram said the party accepted the verdict and hoped that a detailed written order would be issued soon.
He concluded by saying that PTI’s leadership could formally announce a march toward Islamabad at any moment, depending on further developments regarding Imran Khan’s health and legal situation.
