PkMAP Condemns Alleged Gang Rape and Murder in Jamshoro, Demands Immediate Arrest of Suspects

QUETTA: The Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party (PkMAP) has strongly condemned the alleged gang rape and brutal murder of a Pashtun woman, Bibi Sabira, in Sindh’s Jamshoro district, calling for the immediate arrest of all suspects named in the FIR.

In a press release issued from its central secretariat, the party described the incident as inhumane and a grave attack on social and moral values. It said that targeting a pregnant mother of four in such a barbaric manner is a serious crime that has caused widespread grief and anger.

The statement also expressed deep concern over what it termed the failure of the district administrations and police in Jamshoro and Hyderabad to take timely and effective action despite being informed of the alleged abduction. The party said delays and negligence in such sensitive cases raise serious questions about the performance of law enforcement agencies.

According to the press release, Sabira Begum earned a livelihood by selling clothes door-to-door to support her children. Her disappearance for several days and the subsequent recovery of her mutilated body have raised serious concerns about the role and responsibility of state institutions.

PkMAP urged the federal government and the Sindh government to ensure the immediate arrest of all nominated suspects and to conduct the trial on a priority basis so that those responsible receive exemplary punishment. The party also demanded a transparent, impartial and high-level investigation, regardless of the influence of those involved.

The statement further called for full legal protection and adequate financial assistance for the victim’s family to enable them to pursue justice without pressure. It emphasized the need for decisive action against criminal elements and their alleged facilitators to prevent such incidents in the future.

Expressing complete solidarity with the bereaved family, the party vowed to raise its voice at every forum until justice is served. PkMAP’s Hyderabad leadership, including District Secretary Javed Agha, Shafi Khan and Qasim Khan, is reportedly in continuous contact with the family and authorities, while consultations with political and social organizations are ongoing to formulate a joint course of action.

The party warned that if peaceful and legal efforts fail to yield results, it reserves the right to adopt all democratic and protest options in pursuit of justice.
