Fire in Residential Building Near Baloch Colony Bridge in Karachi Brought Under Control

A fire that broke out in a residential building near Baloch Colony Bridge in Karachi was successfully brought under control by rescue officials.
According to rescue authorities, the blaze erupted in the basement of an eight-storey building. The Chief Fire Officer stated that four fire tenders and two snorkel vehicles were deployed to extinguish the fire.
Officials said the fire originated in the basement, causing thick smoke to spread throughout the entire building. Residents were evacuated using snorkels to ensure their safety.
Rescue sources further revealed that the eight-storey building consists of four apartments on each floor. The basement area was being used for vehicle parking and housed generators. However, the initial cause of the fire could not be immediately determined.
Meanwhile, a female resident of the affected building told the media that the fire brigade vehicles that arrived at the scene did not have petrol. She claimed that residents purchased 30 liters of petrol from their own pockets to assist in the firefighting operation.
The resident also praised a police officer present at the scene, ASI Arsalan, calling him a “true hero” for helping evacuate people safely from their homes.
