Malala Yousafzai Condemns Islamabad Mosque Suicide Attack, Extends Condolences to Victims’ Families

Islamabad — Nobel Peace Prize laureate Malala Yousafzai has strongly condemned the terrorist attack on a mosque and imambargah in Islamabad, expressing heartfelt sympathy for the families of the victims.

In her statement, Malala said it is alarming that people are no longer safe even in places of worship. She described the attack on worshippers and civilians as a horrific and cowardly crime, emphasizing that it was an assault on humanity, faith, and shared values, affecting the entire nation. She prayed for lasting peace in Pakistan.

The attack occurred at Imambargah and Masjid Khadijat-ul-Kubra in Islamabad’s Tarlai area, claiming the lives of 32 people and injuring more than 150 others.

Investigation sources revealed that an identity card of the suicide bomber was recovered from the blast site, identifying the attacker as Yasir. Police sources said a raid was conducted at Yasir’s house in Peshawar, during which his two brothers and a woman were taken into custody.

Authorities have intensified investigations into the attack, focusing on the bomber’s network and support system.
