Jeff Bezos to Spend \$160 Million on Second Wedding with Lauren Sanchez in Venice

Venice, Italy:Jeff Bezos**, the founder of **Amazon** and the world’s third richest person, is set to marry **Lauren Sanchez** next week in a lavish ceremony. According to the **Telegraph**, Bezos is expected to spend a whopping **\$160 million (around 4.5 billion Pakistani Rupees)** on the wedding festivities.

The couple got engaged in 2023, and their wedding will take place in the historic city of **Venice** during the final week of June. However, the residents of Venice have expressed strong opposition to the event, with many locals protesting. Some have made it clear that they feel **Bezos**’ wedding is part of the ongoing commercial exploitation of the city. Critics argue that such high-profile events contribute to the erosion of the city’s soul under the guise of tourism, while local Venetians face issues like **housing shortages**, **inflation**, and **lack of basic amenities**.

Bezos, 61, will arrive in Venice aboard the world’s largest yacht, which he reportedly spent **\$500 million** to build. The wedding festivities are expected to begin on **June 24**, and a host of tech moguls like **Bill Gates**, **Elon Musk**, **Mark Zuckerberg**, as well as several Hollywood celebrities, are anticipated to attend. The guests have already reserved the most luxurious rooms in the city’s finest hotels.

The wedding will be held across several historic venues, including the renowned **Palazzo Pisani Moretta**, **Hotel Excelsior**, and other prestigious buildings. According to reports, a staggering **\$1 million** will be spent on flowers and decoration, while **\$3 million** will go to the event organizers. An additional **\$2 million** will be used to secure the venues for the wedding, and around **\$1 million** will be spent on catering. Furthermore, the bride’s gown is expected to cost **\$1.5 million**.

The cost of anchoring Bezos’ super yacht and luxury gifts for the guests is expected to run into the millions. Guests’ hotel stays alone will cost around **\$2 million**, while hair styling and makeup for the bride and female guests will also add to the overall expenses.

It’s noteworthy that Bezos’ first marriage was to **MacKenzie Scott** in **1993**, but the couple divorced in **2019** after 25 years of marriage. As part of the divorce settlement, Bezos paid Scott **\$35 billion** in assets.
