Reject Closed-Door Decisions, Withdraw Tirah Valley Evacuation Notification: KP CM Suhail Afridi

**Peshawar:** Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Suhail Afridi has rejected what he termed “closed-door decisions” and demanded the immediate withdrawal of the notification ordering the evacuation of Tirah Valley, warning that he would convene a jirga of the entire Pashtun nation if the move is not reversed.

Addressing participants of a street movement rally in Mingora, the Chief Minister said the federal government’s notification claimed that residents of Tirah Valley were migrating voluntarily. He rejected the claim and said that if the notification is not withdrawn and an apology is not issued, he will first convene a jirga of the Afridi tribe and then a jirga of the Pashtun nation. He added that if the decision is proven wrong, he would personally take the displaced families back to Tirah Valley.

Suhail Afridi alleged political interference against him, saying press conferences were being held in Peshawar after directives from Islamabad declaring that his name was “not acceptable.” He stressed that no institution should interfere in politics and that objections to his appointment were unjustified, as he was nominated by his party leadership.

The Chief Minister further claimed that multiple tactics were used to prevent him from becoming Chief Minister, including allegations of links with terrorists. He said when these narratives failed, three options were presented against him: the imposition of governor’s rule in the province, his disqualification, or his assassination. He claimed that after the failure of governor’s rule and disqualification options, threats to his life were being made.

Reiterating his stance, Suhail Afridi said that decisions imposed behind closed doors would not be accepted and vowed to continue his struggle for the rights of the people of Tirah Valley and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
