Balochistan Sees Silent Health Revolution as 3,000 Doctors Recruited, 164 BHUs Revived: CM Sarfraz Bugti

Quetta: Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti has said that a silent yet effective revolution has taken place in the province’s health sector over the past few months, the benefits of which are now directly reaching the public.

In a message shared on social media platform X, the chief minister stated that providing basic healthcare facilities in underdeveloped and remote areas of the province is the top priority of the Balochistan government.

He informed that the provincial government has completed the recruitment of around 3,000 doctors on a contract basis, as a result of which 164 Basic Health Units (BHUs) across Balochistan have been made functional. These measures, he said, are benefiting areas where healthcare facilities were previously almost non-existent.

Mir Sarfraz Bugti noted that people living in remote regions—who endure extreme cold in winters and scorching heat in summers—now have access to basic medical facilities close to their homes, calling it a major breakthrough.

He emphasized that these steps are not merely statistics but represent tangible improvements in the lives of the people. The chief minister further stated that health sector reforms will continue and the scope of healthcare services will be expanded further to ensure that every citizen of the province receives timely and quality medical treatment.
