Girls’ Facilities and Youth Welfare My Priority, Says Mina Majeed Baloch; Pledges Full Support to University of Turbat

**Turbat:** Provincial Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, Mina Majeed Baloch, visited the University of Turbat on January 23, where she inaugurated a Girls’ Common Room, constructed from her personal funds, aimed at providing better facilities for female students.
Speaking to the media, Mina Majeed Baloch recalled that during a previous visit to the university, students had highlighted the absence of a common space for girls, especially challenging during harsh weather and rainy days when sitting in open areas or under trees was difficult. Addressing this concern, the Girls’ Common Room was completed within a year, ensuring a comfortable and secure space for female students.
She emphasized that the University of Turbat will continue to receive her full support, and further initiatives will be launched to promote student welfare. During the visit, she also inspected the university’s sports grounds, noting that several previously approved projects, including basketball and football grounds, remain incomplete due to funding shortages and authorization issues. She assured that these matters have been noted and will be addressed through the relevant department.
The minister also reviewed the university gymnasium, highlighting the need for additional equipment and facilities, which the Department of Sports will work to provide. She further mentioned a shortage of coaches and instructors, assuring that future recruitment will prioritize the University of Turbat to meet the demands of its large student population engaged in academic and sports activities.
Mina Majeed Baloch added that discussions will be held with the Chief Minister of Balochistan regarding ongoing federal-level projects, including the provision of digital screens, to ensure that modern teaching facilities are available for students. She concluded by noting that the university administration continues to submit new proposals, which will be considered through ongoing consultation and dialogue.
