Revival of Over 3,200 Closed Schools a Milestone in Educational Recovery, Says CM Balochistan Sarfraz Bugti on World Education Day

**Quetta:** Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti has said that education is the foundation of sustainable development, economic self-reliance and social stability in any society, and that the Balochistan government is introducing practical and long-term reforms to establish an effective, quality and uniform education system across the province.

In his message on the occasion of World Education Day, the chief minister said that for a long time, closed educational institutions had remained a major question mark on Balochistan’s education structure. However, the present government has taken serious and decisive steps to revive more than 3,200 closed schools, bringing thousands of out-of-school children back into the education system, which he termed a significant milestone toward educational recovery.

Mir Sarfraz Bugti said that reforms in the education department are not limited to statements but are being implemented at the grassroots level. These reforms include ensuring teachers’ attendance, effective monitoring of schools, transparency-based appointments, proper utilization of resources and the establishment of a strong accountability mechanism within educational institutions.

He emphasized that the government’s goal is not merely to reopen schools, but to provide children with quality education, a safe learning environment and a curriculum aligned with modern requirements, so that future generations can play a constructive role in the national mainstream with knowledge, skills and strong character.

The chief minister added that World Education Day calls for a collective commitment to treat education not just as a sector, but as a guarantee of the province’s future. He reaffirmed that the Balochistan government will continue to prioritize investment in education and will not tolerate any negligence in this regard.
