Massive Fire Breaks Out in Plaza on Quetta’s Prince Road, Dozens of Shops Destroyed

**Quetta:** A major fire that erupted in a plaza located on the busy Prince Road area of Quetta has been brought under control, while cooling operations are still underway, rescue officials confirmed on Sunday.
The blaze destroyed dozens of shops, including outlets dealing in computers, mobile phones, garments, and other goods, reducing them to ashes. No casualties were immediately reported.
According to rescue authorities, six fire tenders from the Fire Brigade and four vehicles from the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) took part in the firefighting operation. PDMA officials said fire balls were used to help control the flames.
The Metropolitan Corporation Fire Services stated that a total of 13 fire brigade vehicles and around 70 personnel were deployed to extinguish the fire in Liaquat Bazaar Market and the adjoining plaza. Fire tenders were dispatched promptly from five different locations across the city.
The Chief and Director Fire Officer said the fire had also engulfed a nearby electricity transformer and power cables, creating additional challenges for firefighters. However, timely and coordinated efforts by the Fire Brigade, Rescue services, and PDMA prevented the fire from spreading further.
Cooling operations are continuing, while an assessment of the financial losses is currently underway.
