CM Balochistan, Federal Railways Minister Discuss Quetta-Kuchlak Shuttle Train Project

QUETTA:Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, met with Federal Minister for Railways, Muhammad Hanif Abbasi, in Quetta on Thursday to discuss the improvement of railway services in Balochistan. A key focus of the meeting was the proposed shuttle train service between Quetta and Kuchlak.
During the meeting, a detailed briefing was given regarding the 32-kilometer-long railway track from Saryab Station in Quetta to Kuchlak, which is proposed to be made operational for the shuttle service. Railway officials informed that under the project, five stations — Saryab, Quetta, Sheikh Manda, Baleli, and Kuchlak — will be upgraded. The total estimated cost of the project is Rs. 283 million.
Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti expressed confidence in the feasibility of the project, stating that the shuttle train would offer a comfortable and convenient travel option to the residents of Quetta and surrounding areas. He added that this initiative would help reduce the growing traffic congestion in the provincial capital.
Federal Minister Hanif Abbasi also announced the construction of an international-standard football ground in Quetta, with the support of Pakistan Railways, to provide better sports facilities to the youth.
CM Bugti reaffirmed the provincial government’s commitment to expanding the railway network in Balochistan and speeding up infrastructure development in collaboration with the federal government.
