Federal Interior Minister Meets U.S. Ambassador, Discusses Enhanced Security Cooperation

Islamabad: Federal Interior Minister and Narcotics Control, Mohsin Naqvi, held a high-level meeting with a delegation led by U.S. Ambassador Natalie Baker to discuss strengthening Pakistan-U.S. relations and cooperation in key areas of mutual interest.

During the meeting, both sides agreed to enhance bilateral security collaboration and cooperation in border management. Minister Naqvi emphasized that ongoing partnerships with U.S. agencies, including the Anti-Terrorist Assistance Program and the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement, would be further strengthened, with improved coordination at all levels.

He highlighted plans to use advanced software to identify individuals involved in international crimes and confirmed that training programs for officers of the FIA, Federal Constabulary, and the National Cyber Crime Agency will continue. The meeting also focused on equipping border security forces, coastal guards, and other agencies with modern U.S. technology to improve operational capacity.

Minister Naqvi noted that U.S. support would be valuable in activating the FIA’s Anti-Terrorist Wing, which will serve as the first federal-level unit with effective coordination across provinces. He also mentioned that the NCCIA is actively targeting illegal call centers nationwide and stressed the importance of U.S. collaboration in deploying advanced software to prevent financial fraud and terrorism financing.

The U.S. delegation appreciated Pakistan’s efforts to enhance security cooperation, and the Acting U.S. Ambassador praised the ongoing collaboration between the Interior Ministry and U.S. agencies.

The meeting was attended by Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, Federal Secretary Interior, DG FIA, Commandant Federal Constabulary, Additional Secretary Interior, DG National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency, DG Passport and Immigration, IG Islamabad Police, and other senior officials.
