Election Commission Suspends Membership of 32 National Assembly Members Over Non-Submission of Asset Statements

Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has suspended the membership of 32 members of the National Assembly for failing to submit their asset and liability statements for the financial year 2024–25.
According to the ECP, the suspension has taken effect immediately, rendering the lawmakers inactive until they submit the required details of their assets. During this period, they will not be able to function as members of the National Assembly or take part in parliamentary business.
Prominent among the suspended members are Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Muhammad Akhtar Mengal, Syed Ali Musa Gilani, Syed Abdul Qadir Gilani, Muhammad Idrees, Mujahid Ali, Fazal Muhammad Khan, Zulfiqar Ali, Shahid Ahmad, Naseem Ali Shah, Misbahuddin, Tahir Iqbal, Sardar Ghulam Abbas, Osama Ahmed Maila, Muhammad Mehboob Sultan, Khurram Shehzad Warraich, Rasheed Ahmad Khan, Rana Muhammad Hayat Khan, Alam Dad Lalikay, Malik Muhammad Iqbal, Muhammad Moazzam Ali Khan, Muhammad Shabbir Ali Qureshi, Mir Aamir Ali Khan Magsi, Pir Aamir Ali Shah Gilani, Abdul Hakeem Baloch, Sadiq Iftikhar and Arshad Abdullah Warah.
In addition, the memberships of women lawmakers elected on reserved seats — including Saira Tatar, Shazia Fareed, Mehreen Razzaq Bhutto, Sofia Saeed Shah and Saeeda Jamshed — have also been suspended for non-submission of asset details.
The Election Commission clarified that all suspended members will remain barred from parliamentary proceedings until they comply with the legal requirement of submitting their asset and liability statements.
