US Suspends Visa Issuance for 75 Countries Including Pakistan from January 21

The United States has announced the suspension of visa issuance for 75 countries, including Pakistan, effective from **January 21**, until a review of immigration processing procedures is completed.

According to a spokesperson for the US Department of State, the Trump administration has **temporarily halted visa processing** for nationals of 75 countries as part of a broader review of immigration policies. The suspension will remain in place until new procedures are finalized.

The countries affected include **Pakistan, Iran, Afghanistan, Russia, Somalia, Brazil, Nigeria, Jordan, Kuwait, Thailand, Iraq, Yemen, Egypt, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Lebanon, and Libya**, among others.

US officials stated that the decision was taken to reassess immigration processing mechanisms, with the aim of **preventing foreign nationals from improperly accessing US government benefits and welfare facilities**.

It is noteworthy that the United States has **cancelled approximately 100,000 visas so far this year**, including **8,000 student visas** and **2,500 visas of individuals found to be in violation of US laws**.

In a statement posted on its official X (formerly Twitter) account, the US Department of State said that **deportations and visa cancellations will continue** as part of efforts to ensure the safety and security of the United States.
