Pakhtunkhwa National Awami Party Demands Immediate District Status for Muslim Bagh

Quetta – The Pakhtunkhwa National Awami Party (PkNAP) has strongly urged the Chief Minister of Balochistan to immediately grant district status to Muslim Bagh, terming the delay an act of injustice and discriminatory treatment toward the local population.
In a statement issued by the party, it was noted that Muslim Bagh has existed as a tehsil since 1901 and has maintained a formal administrative identity for more than a century. Despite this long-standing status, the area has yet to be declared a district, which the party described as a clear violation of the legitimate rights of its people.
The statement emphasized that Muslim Bagh fully meets the historical, geographical, and administrative criteria required for district status. It added that the growing population, increasing public needs, and administrative challenges make it essential to elevate Muslim Bagh to a district in order to provide basic facilities to residents at their doorstep. Due to the absence of district status, the public continues to face serious difficulties in access to education, healthcare, administration, and other government services.
The Pakhtunkhwa National Awami Party also acknowledged and appreciated the struggle of political and social figures who have consistently advocated for district status for Muslim Bagh, reaffirming its continued support for these efforts. The party termed the approval of a resolution in the Balochistan Provincial Assembly, moved by former Member Provincial Assembly Shaina Kakar (Khor), as a significant, historic, and positive development.
The press release further praised the role of Provincial President Nasrullah Khan Ziarai, who strongly defended the resolution in the provincial assembly and effectively represented the stance and aspirations of the people of Muslim Bagh with solid arguments.
Concluding the statement, the party called upon the Chief Minister of Balochistan to take immediate and concrete steps, in light of the assembly-approved resolution and the legitimate demands of the people, to grant Muslim Bagh its long-awaited constitutional and legal right of district status.
