Taliban Refuse UN Aid, 25 Containers Stuck at Chaman Border, Risk of Humanitarian Crisis

**Quetta:** Twenty-five containers of United Nations humanitarian aid for Afghanistan remain stranded at the Pakistan-Afghanistan Chaman border after the Taliban refused to receive them, raising fears of a worsening humanitarian crisis.
Sources report that the UN agency UNHCR has repeatedly contacted Afghan authorities regarding the delivery, but no positive response has been received. The containers, containing essential supplies for vulnerable populations in Afghanistan, remain exposed to the open sky, increasing the risk of spoilage, especially during harsh winter conditions.
Humanitarian organizations have expressed deep concern, warning that obstacles to aid delivery could exacerbate the already critical situation in Afghanistan. Diplomatic and technical efforts by the UN are ongoing to ensure timely delivery, but as of now, the supplies remain stuck at the border.
This delay highlights growing challenges in delivering humanitarian assistance to Afghan civilians amid political complexities and the ongoing governance by the Taliban.
