Sindh Government to Ensure Full Freedom and Security for KP Chief Minister During Sindh Visit: Sharjeel Memon

Karachi: Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has said that the Sindh government firmly believes in democratic values and is committed to ensuring free movement and political activity within the province.
In a statement and while speaking to the media, Sharjeel Memon said that the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be provided full security and protocol during his visit to Sindh, and a representative of the Sindh government will be present at the airport to welcome him. He added that Sohail Afridi will have complete freedom to carry out political and official activities in Sindh.
The senior minister clarified that the Sindh government’s only requirement is that the KP chief minister should inform authorities about his visit schedule. If any public gathering or event requires a ground or venue, the Sindh government will facilitate it, provided that activities remain within the law and do not cause inconvenience to the public.
Sharjeel Memon emphasized that the Sindh government is ready to extend all possible facilities within the legal framework. He acknowledged that ideological and political differences exist between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), but stressed that democratic societies tolerate dissent and criticism.
He said PTI has the right to criticize, and PPP also has the right to respond politically. Referring to the previous PTI government, he claimed that criticism of then-prime minister Imran Khan often led to NAB notices and arrests the following day, adding that such practices will not be repeated in Sindh, where criticism will be tolerated within the bounds of political ethics.
Criticizing Imran Khan’s stance on the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Sharjeel Memon said that Imran Khan’s narrative in favor of the Taliban is well known. He recalled that Imran Khan had spoken about opening offices for the Taliban, despite the fact that these militants were responsible for brutal attacks across Pakistan, including the killing of innocent schoolchildren. He alleged that PTI has consistently shown leniency toward such elements, a position strongly opposed by the PPP.
He further said that PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has repeatedly referred to Imran Khan as “Taliban Khan” due to what he described as pro-extremist policies, which, according to him, have resulted in continued violence in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Sharjeel Memon concluded by criticizing the law and order situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, claiming that police stations shut down after sunset, creating an atmosphere similar to an undeclared curfew. He said it is the responsibility of the KP government to protect the lives and property of citizens rather than facilitating elements that pose a threat to public safety.
