Billions in Teacher Recruitment Corruption: Former Registrar Farhat Safdar Under Scrutiny, Non-Bailable Arrest Warrants Possible

**Quetta, January 8, 2026** – Significant progress has been made in the investigation of corruption in teacher recruitment in Balochistan. The Anti-Corruption Department has reportedly gathered substantial evidence against former registrar Dr. Farhat Safdar.
Despite notices issued by the department, Dr. Safdar has not appeared, prompting authorities to intensify the case against him. DG Anti-Corruption Nasibullah Kakr told reporters that evidence indicates corruption worth billions of rupees in the recruitment process. He acknowledged that there has been considerable pressure to suppress the investigation, but the Chief Secretary and Chief Minister have given clear directives to carry the matter to its logical conclusion.
The department has requested all records related to the recruitments, including papers submitted by candidates, fees collected, and the roles of invigilators and testing companies, to be presented by January 12. DG Kakr emphasized that no delays will be tolerated and that responsible parties, including officials from the Education Department and the private company conducting the testing, will face action.
He further warned that individuals who fail to comply with notices may be subject to non-bailable arrest warrants through the courts.
