Azma Bukhari Announces Filing First Case in Punjab’s Defamation Court

Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari has announced that she will file the first case in Punjab’s newly established Defamation Court against Punjab Assembly Opposition Leader Moeen Qureshi, following allegations made against her.

Talking to the media, Azma Bukhari said that false and defamatory accusations were leveled against her, adding that she would not let the matter go unchallenged.

She stated that the remarks were not part of political disagreement but amounted to a clear attack on her personality and character.

The provincial information minister termed the allegations baseless, false, and an attempt at character assassination, saying that labeling journalists as personal employees was insulting and unacceptable.

Azma Bukhari said that the court would now decide between truth and falsehood, describing the case as an important legal step against defamation.

It is worth noting that Moeen Qureshi had earlier claimed that journalists who questioned the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister were “paid employees” of Azma Bukhari.
