PM Shahbaz Sharif Vows to Continue Fight Against Terrorism in Balochistan

Quetta: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has stated that Pakistan will not rest until terrorism is completely eradicated from Balochistan, echoing similar security challenges faced in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Speaking to political leaders in Quetta, the Prime Minister said that extremist groups, referred to as “Fitna-ul-Khawarij,” are receiving support from a neighboring country, and the military, under the leadership of the Field Marshal, is actively leading the war against terrorism. He emphasized that just as terrorists caused difficulties in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, they have also created challenges in Balochistan, and the government remains committed to eliminating them.

On development matters, Shahbaz Sharif highlighted that under the National Finance Commission (NFC) awards, provinces are being provided resources. He recalled that former Balochistan Chief Minister Aslam Raisani had demanded a 100 percent increase in the NFC share, which Punjab supported. Currently, Punjab transfers Rs 1.1 billion to Balochistan from its share.

The Prime Minister also announced the inauguration of the Karachi-Chaman four-lane road and the establishment of Danish Schools across Balochistan to provide quality education to children.

Shahbaz Sharif reiterated the government’s dual focus on security and development, asserting that efforts in both areas will continue until peace and stability are fully restored in Balochistan.
