PTA Guides Users on How to Recover Hacked WhatsApp Accounts

Islamabad:The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has issued guidance on how users can regain access to their hacked WhatsApp accounts.

WhatsApp, being the most widely used messaging app today, is often targeted by hackers, leaving users worried and vulnerable. In a message shared on Twitter, PTA outlined simple steps to recover and secure compromised accounts.

Users are advised to reinstall WhatsApp, register their phone number, and enter the verification code sent by the app to regain access. PTA also recommended enabling Two-Step Verification to protect the account from unauthorized access.

Additionally, users should change their phone and WhatsApp passwords, avoid clicking on suspicious links or files, and run antivirus scans. If unusual messages were sent from the account, users should notify their contacts to remain cautious.

These measures aim to help WhatsApp users quickly restore their accounts and enhance overall account security.
