Protests in Turbat Over Rising Kidnappings for Ransom; Call for Shut Down on January 7

**Turbat (Daily Qudrat Quetta):** Citizens of **Turbat**, Kech District, staged a massive protest against the deteriorating law and order situation and rising **kidnappings for ransom**, demanding immediate action for the release of abductees. The protest, organized by **All Parties Kech**, began as a rally from Apsar Bazaar and proceeded to **Shaheed Fida Chowk**, where it turned into a large public gathering.
Addressing the gathering, former Chief Minister of Balochistan and **National Party President Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch** described the district’s security situation as **extremely alarming**. He demanded that state authorities **securely recover abductees Haseeb son of Haji Yasin and Shah Nawaz son of Gul Jan**, whose families are being extorted for millions of rupees. Dr. Baloch warned that conspiracies are underway to push Kech into instability again but affirmed that **the conscious citizens of Kech will not allow these schemes to succeed**.
He urged the government and district administration to **ensure the protection of citizens’ lives and property**, noting that in the past month, families of the victims had approached various agencies, but responsibility was being shifted, delaying action.
The **All Parties Kech convener and PPP leader Nawab Khan Shambayzai** emphasized that the rally aimed to **raise a strong voice against recent kidnappings** and warned that if the abductees were not released, a **shut down strike would be enforced in Turbat on January 7**.
Other speakers at the event included **Kech Bar Association President Advocate Syed Majeed Shah, former caretaker provincial minister Mir Ghafoor Ahmed Bizenjo, former Senator Ismail Biledi, BNP Awami Vice President Comrade Zarif Zadeg, BNP leaders Dr. Ghafoor Baloch, JUI-Kech Maulana Abdul Hafeez Mengal, Jamat Ahle Hadith Kech Amir Maulana Saeed Ahmed Tagrani, JI Kech Amir Ghulam Yasin Baloch, and BSO Pajar Chairman Boher Saleh Advocate**, among others.
The rally saw **thousands of participants**, including political leaders, civil society representatives, paramedical staff, lawyers from Kech Bar Association, Balochistan Bar Council, Makran Bar Council, and affected families. The event was moderated by **former All Parties Kech convener Khalil Tagrani**, with active participation from residents across the district.
The protest highlighted **public frustration over rising kidnappings and inadequate response by authorities**, signaling escalating tension in the region if demands are not met.
