Record 5.57 Million Passports Issued Across Pakistan in 2025

**Islamabad (Daily Qudrat):** The Passport Department has revealed that a total of **5,572,013 passports** were issued across Pakistan in 2025, marking a significant increase compared to previous years.
According to official statistics, **3,275,263 passports** were issued under the normal category, **1,839,487** under the urgent category, and **276,789** through the fast-track service.
Officials attributed the rise to growing demand for passports for overseas employment, education, and tourism. Several reforms implemented to improve passport office efficiency also contributed to the increased output.
The introduction of **24-hour passport offices** in major cities significantly eased the application process, reduced backlogs, and expedited passport issuance. Additionally, the use of modern technology, an increase in staff, and an **online appointment system** have further streamlined services, allowing citizens to receive passports more quickly and conveniently.
The Passport Department has assured that further improvements will be made to ensure uninterrupted services and continued convenience for the public.
