Humans Domesticated Wolves Thousands of Years Before Dogs, Study Reveals

**Islamabad:** A new study has revealed that humans domesticated wolves thousands of years before dogs were kept as companions.
Researchers from Stockholm University examined prehistoric wolf remains discovered on a Swedish island, shedding light on early human-animal relationships. The remains, dating back 3,000 to 5,000 years, were found in the Stora Förvar cave.
Archaeologists also uncovered evidence of extensive wolf use during the Stone and Bronze Ages, indicating that humans interacted with and possibly tamed wolves long before dogs became domesticated pets.
The study provides important insights into the origins of human-animal domestication and the deep historical bond between humans and canines.
