Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Minister of State Talal Chaudhry Visit Elite Police Training Centre in Islamabad
Islamabad: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry visited the Elite Police Training Centre in the federal capital on Saturday, where they reviewed ongoing training programmes and assessed the performance of various courses.
During the visit, the ministers observed the Capital Elite Training Course and the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) course, and inspected practical exercises, physical training drills, and overall preparedness of the trainees. They also reviewed the trainees’ fitness levels and professional skills.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi examined developmental and professional aspects of the training centre and inspected the available training facilities. He met officers and instructors of the Elite Training Centre, praised their performance, and stressed the need to further enhance training standards of the Elite Force. He underscored the importance of reducing response time, particularly in view of persistent threats of terrorism and extremism.
Commending the skills and professionalism of the trainees, Mohsin Naqvi said the Elite Training School would continue to play a vital role in strengthening the capabilities of security forces.
Inspector General of Islamabad Police Ali Nasir Rizvi briefed the interior minister on ongoing training activities, security arrangements, and operational preparedness at the centre. The briefing highlighted that special emphasis is being placed on improving the firing skills of trainees.
The visit was also attended by the Interior Secretary, Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Deputy Inspectors General (DIGs), and other senior police officials.
