Europe Opens Doors for Pakistanis, Thousands of Job Opportunities Announced

Islamabad: Pakistani workers now have access to job opportunities in Europe, with Italy allocating a total quota of 10,500 jobs for Pakistani nationals—a significant development for the country’s workforce.
According to the spokesperson of the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, Italy has granted Pakistan this quota for the next three years, allowing 3,500 Pakistani workers annually to secure seasonal and non-seasonal employment. This includes 1,500 seasonal and 2,000 non-seasonal workers each year.
Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis, Chaudhry Salik Hussain, requested Italy to allocate the quota. The jobs cover sectors such as ship-breaking, hospitality, healthcare, and agriculture, offering skilled and semi-skilled Pakistanis the chance to contribute professionally abroad.
The spokesperson highlighted that job opportunities in Italy are available for welders, technicians, chefs, waiters, housekeeping staff, nurses, medical technicians, and workers in farming and agriculture. Italy is the first European country to officially allocate a quota for Pakistani workers, marking a historic milestone in bilateral labor cooperation.
Chaudhry Salik Hussain stated that the second meeting of the Pakistan-Italy Joint Working Group will be held in Islamabad in February 2026. He described Italy’s quota allocation as a major achievement and emphasized that, after long-term efforts, the doors of international employment are now opening for Pakistani workers.
The minister added that this development represents a key step for Pakistan in exploring opportunities in the European labor market. He reiterated that the government is committed to providing dignified global employment for Pakistani workers, who play a vital role in the national economy. Further European countries are expected to open their labor markets for Pakistanis in the near future.
