Forced Agreements Taken from Residents in Tirah Valley, Says KP Chief Minister

**Peshawar:** Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi has claimed that residents of Tirah Valley were allegedly forced to sign agreements, terming the situation concerning.
Talking to media during his visit to Jamrud, the KP chief minister said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has delegated all powers regarding negotiations with the government or launching a protest movement to Mahmood Khan Achakzai and Senator Allama Raja Nasir Abbas. He said future political strategy will be decided in consultation with these leaders.
Sohail Afridi stated that another key directive from the PTI founder relates to the street movement, for which preparations have already begun. “We will make the street movement successful, and party workers are fully active in this regard,” he added.
Commenting on the situation in Tirah Valley, the chief minister said he had no information about any displacement of residents but had received reports that local citizens were compelled to sign agreements. He described this as a troubling development.
He further said that if any issue regarding the situation in Tirah Valley is formally brought to him, he will raise his voice and ensure protection of public rights. However, he clarified that so far no government official has contacted him regarding any possible operation in the area.
Speaking about the development of merged districts, Sohail Afridi reiterated that the government has already announced a development package worth Rs1,000 billion for the merged areas. He said the government is serious about bringing these districts into the national mainstream and providing basic facilities to the people.
The chief minister emphasized that all decisions aimed at resolving public issues and ensuring political stability will be made through consultation and within the constitutional framework, adding that no compromise will be made on the interests of the people of the province.
