Those Talking About Negotiations Are Not Close to Imran Khan,’ Says Alima Khan

**Islamabad:** Alima Khan, sister of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, has stated that Imran Khan represents the majority of the nation, and those discussing negotiations cannot be considered close allies of the PTI chief.

Speaking to the media outside the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Rawalpindi alongside her lawyer Faisal Malik, Alima Khan expressed her lack of awareness regarding the communiqué issued by the Tehreek-e-Tahaffuz-e-Aain conference.

She criticized the verdict in the Toshakhana case, stating that Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi were sentenced to 17 years each, while no clear action has been taken regarding the vehicle obtained by Maryam Nawaz from Toshakhana—an inconsistency she described as a mockery of the law.

Alima Khan said that Imran Khan had called for peaceful protests on November 22 last year and that the only allegation against him was conveying this message to the public. She also raised concerns over witnesses being police officers while no action is taken against those giving false testimony, questioning the justice system.

“Imran Khan has always advocated for the supremacy of law,” she said, adding that judges who speak about the rule of law face pressure. She dismissed the Toshakhana case as baseless, pointing out that the only allegation involved undervaluation of a necklace, resulting in a 17-year sentence while other cases were ignored.

Alima Khan highlighted that Imran Khan has been in jail for over two and a half years, has consistently faced legal challenges, and has rejected offers to leave the country. She criticized certain judges for allegedly working under pre-planned directives and noted that some deliver “wrong verdicts” and later leave the country.

She also revealed that she had conveyed Imran Khan’s message to the media, for which journalists were summoned as witnesses. She confirmed that nine out of eleven books sent to Imran Khan have been received. Additionally, she stated that Imran Khan has issued instructions to PTI’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa leadership regarding the party’s street movement.

Alima Khan’s lawyer, Faisal Malik, added that no substantial evidence exists against her in the November 26 case and that an application for acquittal has been filed. He criticized the cases as politically motivated, claiming that the prosecution is fast-tracking her case, while expressing hope for justice from the courts.
