PkNAP Leaders Stress Empowering Local Governments, Inaugurate Election Office in Quetta

Quetta:Provincial President of the Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party (PkNAP), Nasrullah Khan Ziaray, and Central Committee member and Chiltan Town organizer Gul Shaheen have emphasized that empowering local government institutions in the true sense and providing them with adequate financial resources is the most pressing need of the time to resolve people’s basic issues at the grassroots level.

They were addressing a ceremony held at Baryach Pull, Satellite Town, on the occasion of the inauguration of the party’s election office for the upcoming local government elections. The speakers said that local government institutions form the foundation of democracy at the grassroots level, but unfortunately these institutions have been deliberately weakened over the past several years. As a result, people have been deprived of basic facilities such as clean drinking water, health, education, sanitation, and other essential services.

They stated that the Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party believes in the power of the people and considers public service through local government institutions as the core of its politics. On the occasion, Regional Secretary Dr. Hayat Baryach, nominated councilors Abdul Bari Baryach and Hashim Lala, Chairman Abdul Salam, and a large number of party workers were present. Participants welcomed the establishment of the election office and pledged to play an active role in ensuring the party’s success in the local government elections.

Meanwhile, a joining ceremony was held in Kuchlak at the residence of Haji Muhammad Yaqoob Aka in Killi Atozai, where 65 individuals formally announced their decision to join the Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party. The gathering was addressed by Central Secretary Finance Yousaf Khan Kakar, Central Committee members Malik Garan and Wasi Afghan, District Assistant Secretary Ameer Muhammad, Regional Secretary Malik Haibat Khan, Haji Abdul Hadi Noorzai, Gulzar Khan, and nominated councilor Hikmatullah Khan.

The speakers warmly welcomed the new entrants, stating that PkNAP is leading an organized struggle for the national sovereignty, political dignity, and collective emancipation of the Pashtun people. They said the party is working day and night to resolve public issues and, with the support of the people, is determined to overcome all challenges facing Pashtunkhwa.

They appealed to the public to vote for Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party’s nominated candidates in the local government elections scheduled for December 28 by stamping the party’s election symbol, the bunch of grapes, as a clear endorsement of patriotism, democracy, and public service.
