Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party Announces Public Gathering in Zhob on 7 and 11 October Martyrs’ Anniversary; Martyrs’ National and Democratic Services Will Be Paid Tribute: Abdul Qahar Khan Wadan

Quetta (Quwat Roznama): A meeting of the District Committee of Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party District Quetta was held at the party’s central secretariat under the chairmanship of the party’s Provincial Senior Vice President and District Secretary Syed Sharaf Agha. The meeting was attended by the party’s Provincial President Abdul Qahar Khan Wadan and Provincial Parliamentary Secretary Hazrat Umar Advocate. The agenda of the meeting included organisational and political activity, the holding of conferences of Quetta’s four tehsils — Sadar, City, Kuchlagh and Sariab — a public contact campaign, ensuring implementation of provincial committee decisions, and emphasis on party workers remaining among the people at all times and utilising their capabilities to reduce the basic problems of the people of Quetta.
During the meeting, District Quetta Information Secretary Faisal Kakar presented the district information report, while Tehsil Sadar President’s Secretary Naeem Pir Alizai presented the Sadar Tehsil report, Kuchlagh Tehsil Secretary Malik Nadir Kakar presented the Kuchlagh Tehsil report, City Tehsil Senior Assistant Secretary Shakoor Afghan presented the City Tehsil report, and Sariab Tehsil Senior Assistant Secretary Syed Abdul Khaliq Agha presented the Sariab Tehsil report.
Addressing the meeting, Abdul Qahar Khan Wadan and Syed Sharaf Agha welcomed the decision to hold a central public gathering under the auspices of the party in District Zhob, under the chairmanship of Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party’s beloved Chairman, head of the Movement for the Protection of the Constitution of Pakistan, and Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Mahmood Khan Achakzai, on the occasion of the 43rd anniversary of the 7 October 1983 martyrs of democracy — Kaka Mahmood Shaheed, Ramzan Shaheed, Dawood Shaheed and Aslam Olasyar Shaheed — and the 35th anniversary of the 11 October 1991 martyrs of the homeland — Abdul Rahim Kalewal Shaheed, Sabir Shah Shaheed, Habib-ur-Rahman Shaheed, Sahib Khan Shaheed and Baz Muhammad Baz Shaheed.
They said that the purpose of commemorating the anniversaries of the martyrs of the homeland and the martyrs of democracy is not only to pay tribute to their national, patriotic and democratic services and sacrifices, but also to move forward the ongoing struggle with renewed zeal and to reaffirm their resolve for the completion of their national aspirations.
They said that the party is going to hold this martyrs’ gathering in District Zhob of South Pashtunkhwa in such circumstances when a Form 47 government has been imposed in the country, the Constitution is being trampled upon, the freedom of the judiciary and media has been ended by passing unconstitutional and illegal bills, laws and constitutional amendments through a non-elected parliament, and under the black law of the Mines and Minerals Act, the people’s ancestral lands, forests and minerals are being occupied and provincial autonomy has been snatched away.
They said that in the Pashtunkhwa homeland, unrest, lawlessness, kidnapping, murder and killing, arson and damage to property, extortion, land grabbing and armed gangs have been given complete free rein under official patronage, and through this the blood of our people is being shed unjustly.
They said that on 7 October 1983, a historic protest procession was taken out under the leadership of the party’s beloved leader Mahmood Khan Achakzai, raising voice against the oppression, tyranny, violence, imprisonment and massacre carried out by dictatorial rulers against the people of Sindh and political and democratic workers, and against Zia-ul-Haq’s martial law, for the supremacy of the Constitution and the restoration of democracy. During that procession, on the orders of the then Governor General Dyer (Rahimuddin), a murderous attack was made on party Chairman Mahmood Khan Achakzai, and those brave workers, putting their chests forward, ensured the protection of their leader. On the same day, as a result of firing and baton charging on the procession, many party workers were injured, while dozens of party leaders and workers, including party leaders Dr Kaleemullah Khan and Abdul Qahar Khan Wadan, were arrested.
Similarly, the martyrs of the homeland of 11 October 1991 sacrificed their lives while foiling a conspiracy against the protection of the national interests of the Pashtunkhwa homeland and a murderous attack by occupiers on the party office.
They said that Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party considers the martyrdom of Khan Shaheed Abdul Samad Khan Achakzai and all leaders and workers during the ongoing struggle as a tragic, painful and irreparable loss for the Pashtun national movement and national history, whose void could not be filled even over long periods.
They said that even today, for the completion of the national aspirations of these great martyrs and elders, Pashtunkhwa MAP, under the leadership of its beloved leader Mahmood Khan Achakzai, is continuously moving forward, broadening and organising its ongoing national political and democratic struggle for the restoration of a consensus Constitution in the country, democracy, the rule of law, making all institutions bound by the national Constitution, an independent Election Commission, and the establishment of the national unity (province) of Pashtuns based on contiguous Pashtun areas in the country.
They urged the proud people of District Zhob and District Sherani to ensure full participation in the 7 October public gathering and fulfil their national, political, patriotic and democratic duty.
The party leaders, while urging the members of the District Committee Quetta, said that doubling organisational activity in District Quetta is among the responsibilities of every worker, and showing laziness or negligence in one’s organisational responsibilities is not only a betrayal of one’s position but also tantamount to harming the ongoing struggle. All tehsils should prepare to hold meetings of their tehsil committees and complete conferences/elections in the month of October.
