Balochistan Leaks Targeting Politicians’ Reputation, National Party Denounces Fake Videos Against Rehmat Saleh Baloch

**Quetta:** The National Party (NP) has strongly condemned the ongoing campaign under the banner of “Balochistan Leaks,” describing it as a deliberate plot aimed at sabotaging the province’s peaceful and democratic political environment. The campaign, according to the party, is designed to create public distrust against elected representatives and destabilize the political scenario in Balochistan.
The provincial spokesperson stated that a well-orchestrated plan has targeted members of the provincial assembly, particularly NP’s central leader Rehmat Saleh Baloch, by levying baseless corruption allegations to damage their credibility. He emphasized that the claims presented in the fake videos, created using modern technology and artificial intelligence, are fabricated, misleading, and contrary to facts.
The spokesperson pointed out that the videos falsely reference development funds amounting to PKR 135 crore, although the National Party is currently not part of the provincial government, and Rehmat Saleh Baloch does not hold any ministerial position with authority over such funds. He clarified that these allegations are politically motivated and meant solely to mislead the public.
He further explained that the development funds mentioned in the videos were part of allocations announced for opposition members, and NP has always maintained transparency by keeping official records and documentation. While a large portion of these funds is yet to be disbursed, the party stated it is fully prepared to present factual details regarding the released funds, project nature, and implementation to the public and media.
Expressing deep concern, the spokesperson highlighted that the smear campaign against NP and Rehmat Saleh Baloch has intensified to the point that their family members have also been targeted, with one of his brothers having been martyred. Such incidents, he said, raise serious questions about the motives behind this campaign.
The spokesperson also criticized the declining standards of journalism in Balochistan, noting that some individuals, posing as journalists via mobile phones, are engaged in blackmail and defamation of political leaders. He affirmed that while the National Party fully supports free, responsible, and investigative journalism, no one will be allowed to malign public representatives through lies or fabricated material.
The NP demanded immediate action from relevant authorities and expressed hope that the parliamentary committee investigating the matter will swiftly uncover the real perpetrators, ensuring that the truth reaches the public and Balochistan’s political environment is safeguarded.
