Imran Khan’s Sons Make Surprise Announcement, Raise Concerns Over Father’s Jail Conditions

**Islamabad:** The sons of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, Qasim Khan and Suleman Khan, have expressed serious concerns over their father’s current imprisonment, claiming he is being held in extremely poor and alarming conditions.
The two brothers revealed that Imran Khan is currently confined in a death cell at Adiala Jail, where facilities are minimal and conditions fall far short of international standards. Speaking during an interview, they openly discussed the situation of their father’s detention.
According to Qasim and Suleman Khan, the cell where Imran Khan is being kept has very little lighting and lacks basic facilities, causing him severe hardship. They said such conditions are unacceptable for any prisoner.
Suleman Khan further stated that electricity in the jail cell is often unavailable, worsening the difficulties. He also claimed that the water provided is not clean and that the overall prison environment does not meet international standards for prisoner rights, describing the situation as deeply distressing.
Qasim Khan said that the impact of Imran Khan’s imprisonment is not limited to him alone but affects the entire family. Being abroad, he added, makes them feel helpless, and the inability to do anything for their father has placed them under intense mental stress.
It is noteworthy that Imran Khan has been in custody for more than two years. During this period, PTI has held protests against his imprisonment on various occasions, some of which resulted in clashes with police. The issue remains a subject of ongoing political and public debate.
Last week, a sit-in staged by Imran Khan’s sisters was also called off. The protest aimed to secure permission to meet him. Reports indicate that the last official meeting with Imran Khan took place on December 2.
Qasim Khan and Suleman Khan further disclosed that they plan to visit Pakistan in January but are currently awaiting visa approval. They praised their father’s services, sacrifices and commitment to the country, saying that Imran Khan’s mission goes beyond personal interests and is driven by a sense of duty to the nation.
