Balochistan Hit by Severe Natural Disasters and Water Crisis as Dams Dry Up, Groundwater Levels Fall Alarmingly

Quetta: Provincial Minister for Public Health Engineering (PHE) Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran has said that Balochistan is currently facing severe natural disasters, resulting in an acute shortage of drinking water across the province.
Expressing serious concern, he stated that groundwater levels have dropped to dangerously low levels and dams have almost dried up. As a result, not only are residents struggling for every drop of water, but livestock is also dying due to the worsening crisis.
The provincial minister said that despite limited resources, the government is taking emergency measures to address the situation. He emphasized that ensuring the availability of at least drinking water for the public remains the government’s top priority.
He urged collective efforts and responsible water usage to help mitigate the crisis as the province grapples with one of its most severe water shortages in recent years.
