Thrilling Footage Emerges of Skydiver Hanging from Plane After Parachute Malfunction

Australia (Qudrat Daily) — A skydiver in Queensland, Australia, narrowly escaped death when his reserve parachute got caught on the wing of a Cessna 208, leaving him dangling thousands of feet in the air, according to a report by the Australian Transport Safety Bureau.
The incident occurred on **September 20**, during a jump involving **16 skydivers** from the Cessna. The report did not disclose the identity of the skydiver.
Camera footage revealed that as the first skydiver jumped, his **reserve parachute snagged on the aircraft’s left wing flap**, causing it to deploy unexpectedly. He then collided with another skydiver and became stuck on the plane’s tail stabilizer.
While hanging at approximately **15,000 feet**, the pilot worked to stabilize the aircraft as **13 other skydivers jumped safely** past the dangling individual. The remaining two skydivers also jumped after the trapped skydiver was freed.
The pilot initially did not realize what had happened, only noticing a sudden lift and reduction in speed. Wearing an **emergency parachute**, the pilot considered abandoning the plane but ultimately managed to **land safely** after all skydivers had exited.
The dramatic incident highlights the risks of skydiving and the importance of safety protocols during aerial jumps.
