Denmark Plans Social Media Ban for Children Under 15

Islamabad (Qudrat Daily) — Following Australia’s recent move to restrict social media use for children under 16, **Denmark has announced plans to ban children under 15 from using social media platforms**.

According to international news agencies, the Danish government is preparing a proposal to limit internet access for younger children, which will first be presented as a bill in the parliament. The bill reportedly enjoys broad support from both ruling and opposition parties and could come into effect as early as next year after formal approval.

To enforce the restriction, Denmark intends to introduce a **digital evidence app** that will verify age and ensure compliance. While the full details of the bill are not yet available, children aged **13 to 15 may still use their parents’ accounts**, but will not be allowed to create their own social media profiles.

Currently, **98% of Danish children have their own social media accounts**, making them vulnerable to online risks and exploitation by criminal groups. The new measures aim to protect children from such dangers while promoting safer online habits.
