Monsoon Brings Delightful Weather as Heavy Rains Lash Lahore and Parts of Punjab

Lahore: The monsoon season has made its presence felt, bringing heavy rainfall to Lahore and various cities across Punjab, transforming the weather into a pleasant and refreshing experience.
According to private news channel Dunya News, dark clouds covered the provincial capital, Lahore, leading to showers in several areas including Township, Canal Road, Harbanspura, Kahna, Jallo Mor, Taj Bagh, and others. The rain turned the weather enjoyable but also caused power outages in multiple areas due to feeder trips, creating difficulties for residents.
In the federal capital Islamabad and Rawalpindi, torrential rains were reported, while Gujranwala, Gujrat, and Sialkot also received significant rainfall. Monsoon showers extended to Murree and Azad Kashmir, as well as Malam Jabba, Kalam, and surrounding areas.
In Abbottabad, heavy rain triggered flooding in local streams and landslides in upper areas, blocking main roads and leaving several tourists stranded.
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a storm and heavy rainfall alert for the next 12 to 24 hours.
Under the special instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, WASA (Water and Sanitation Agency) remains on high alert, with the Managing Director directing all field teams to stay fully mobilized.
