Anti-Terrorism Court Cancels Bail of 16 PTI Leaders and Workers in November 26 Protest Cases

Rawalpindi:The **Anti-Terrorism Court** has **revoked the bail** of **16 Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)** leaders and workers, including **Raja Basharat**, **Sanam Javed**, **Mashal Yousafzai**, **Nadia Khatak**, and **journalist Sami Ibrahim**, in connection with the **November 26 protest** cases. The court’s ruling came after **non-appearance** in hearings and **lack of cooperation** in the investigation.
The hearing was presided over by **Judge Amjad Ali Shah**, who was presented with arguments from the **prosecutor**, **Zaheer Shah**. The prosecutor stated that the accused had **been taking advantage of judicial leniency** for the last **four months** by **remaining absent** from court proceedings and causing **delays in the investigation**. He argued that the accused were deliberately hindering the investigative process and misusing their **bail rights**.
> “The accused have been absconding and taking unfair advantage of the judicial leniency, which is not acceptable,” Prosecutor Zaheer Shah argued.
The prosecutor also referenced **Supreme Court rulings** regarding similar cases to support his argument, leading the court to **dismiss the bail applications** of the 16 PTI leaders and workers.
Those whose **bail was revoked** include former **provincial minister Raja Basharat**, **Sanam Javed**, **Mashal Yousafzai**, **Simaabiah Tahir**, **Taimoor Masood**, **Fahd Masood**, **Saad Ali Khan**, **Raja Nasir Mahfooz**, **Javed Kausar**, **Shahbaz Ahmed**, **Nadia Khatak**, **Umar Tanveer Butt**, **Babur Lodhi**, **Nisar Khan**, **Abdul Waheed**, and **journalist Sami Ibrahim**.
These individuals face charges in multiple cases registered at various **police stations** in **Rawalpindi** and **Attock**.
This decision has raised significant concerns about the **fairness** and **speed** of the ongoing trials in the wake of the **November 26 protest**, which resulted in multiple arrests and legal actions against PTI leaders and activists.
