Peshawar: A high-level meeting of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) was held under the chairmanship of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Suhail Afridi, during which the government granted in-principle approval to convert **186 CTD detectives into permanent field operators**.

The chief minister was given a detailed briefing on CTD performance. The chief minister also approved, in principle, the establishment of a **new CTD Regional Headquarters in Peshawar**.

The meeting decided to revive the previously halted development project for constructing CTD offices in **21 districts**, expanding the department at the district level at an estimated cost of **Rs 4.3 billion**.

Additionally, **Rs 7.77 billion** was approved for the provision of vehicles, weapons, and modern equipment to the CTD.

Suhail Afridi directed that timelines be strictly followed for CTD reforms, infrastructure development, and recruitments. He further emphasized that safety protocols must be ensured in all CTD construction projects.

The chief minister reaffirmed the provincial government’s commitment to maintaining law and order, stating that resource constraints will not be allowed to hinder peace efforts in the province.
