“One Individual Has Become a Threat to National Security; No One Will Be Allowed to Divide the Army and the Nation,” Says DG ISPR

Islamabad: Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has said that a certain individual has become a threat to Pakistan’s national security, emphasizing that no one will be allowed to create divisions between the people and the armed forces.
Addressing a detailed press conference, the military spokesperson said the individual believes that “without him, nothing can function,” adding that his personal ambitions have grown so excessive that he considers himself above the state. “His narrative poses a serious threat to national security. Ending this false narrative is the need of the hour. His politics is over,” DG ISPR stated.
### **“Army belongs to no political party”**
Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif said the Pakistan Army does not represent any political party, sect, or group. “We belong to the middle class, not to any elite group. If someone attacks the army and its leadership for personal motives or flawed thinking, it is unacceptable. Do whatever politics you want, but keep the army out of it,” he stressed.
He warned that provoking the public against the military would not be tolerated. “The Pakistan Army stands as the shield between the nation and threats like *Khawarij* and *Fitna-e-Hindustan*.”
### **Social media networks being operated from abroad**
The DG ISPR presented a video claiming that several PTI social media accounts were being operated from Afghanistan and India. During the briefing, a controversial clip of Imran Khan’s sister Noreen Khan was also shown, in which she suggested that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government should “attack Adiala Jail” to secure Imran Khan’s release. He said Afghan extremist networks, alleged PTI facilitators, and Indian media amplified her remarks to fuel unrest.
“These statements are part of a coordinated campaign against state institutions,” he said, accusing foreign networks of interfering in Pakistan’s internal affairs and spreading misinformation.
### **Strong remarks on political messaging**
Questioning the motives behind the individual’s narrative, Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif said:
“Who are you, and whose language are you speaking? Signs of psychological disorder have been seen before as well. Did he not incite the 9 May attack on GHQ? He believes everyone in the army is a traitor except him. For him, democracy exists only when he is in power.”
He criticized the individual for repeatedly invoking Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in his statements and questioned why he never speaks about the province where his party is in power. “Pakistan has serious issues — why not talk about those?”
### **Propaganda over Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) notification**
The spokesperson said a massive wave of misinformation was spread over the recent notification of the Chief of Defence Forces. “A flood of lies was unleashed. Is this freedom of expression? Instead of discussing real issues, propaganda was run against the army.”
He also said the individual has repeatedly called for dialogue with militant groups and discouraged intelligence-based operations. “According to his logic, if India attacked Pakistan, he would carry a begging bowl and say ‘come talk to us.’ He even suggested opening an office for militants in Peshawar.”
### **“Lies and deception will not be allowed to continue”**
“Inciting people against state operations will not be tolerated. We know exactly what is happening, why it is happening, and who is behind it. This business of lies and deception will be stopped,” he said.
The DG ISPR reaffirmed the military’s commitment to its oath: “We have sworn to protect the state. Anyone who thinks he is bigger than Pakistan is mistaken. We stand by the truth and will remain steadfast.”
### **CDF Headquarters begins functioning**
Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif congratulated the nation on the establishment of the Chief of Defence Forces Headquarters, calling it a long-awaited development. The new headquarters, he said, will enhance coordination and provide complete oversight of war and security matters.
He clarified that imposing Governor’s Rule is a decision for the government, not the army.
### **Terrorism and foreign media involvement**
He said terrorism cannot be eliminated overnight and that some militant support structures still operate under political patronage. “The state’s stance is clear — there will be no negotiations with the *Khawarij*.”
He added that Indian and Afghan social media networks continue to push anti-Pakistan narratives, and Indian media “has become the voice of PTI.” He said interviews of PTI figures and KP’s leadership are repeatedly broadcast on Indian channels to shape political perceptions.
### **9 May cases concluded**
Speaking on the 9 May riots, the DG ISPR said the matter is not just an army issue but “the case of the Pakistani nation.” All cases that reached military courts have now been concluded, he confirmed.
