Army Spokesperson Says “One Individual Has Become a National Security Threat”; Vows No Rift Will Be Allowed Between People and Armed Forces

Islamabad: Pakistan’s military spokesperson, DG ISPR Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, has warned that a single individual has become a threat to national security, asserting that the Armed Forces will not allow anyone to create a divide between the military and the people of Pakistan.

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, the DG ISPR said this person “believes that if he is not in power, nothing should exist,” adding that his personal ambitions have grown so large that he now considers himself above the state. “His narrative poses a clear risk to national security, and the time has come to end this false propaganda,” he stated. “His politics is over.”

Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif declared that the Pakistan Army represents no political party, class, sect, or school of thought. “We come from the middle class. We respect all political parties. Do your politics, but keep the Army out of it,” he said. “We will not tolerate any attempt to incite the public against their own army.”

He added that the Pakistan Army remains the country’s shield, standing between “the Fitna of the Khawarij, the threat of Hindutva, and the people of Pakistan.”

### **Video Clips of Foreign Influence**

The military spokesperson presented a video showing PTI-linked social media accounts being operated from Afghanistan and India. He also aired a controversial interview of Imran Khan’s sister, Noreen Khan, given to India’s Republic TV, in which she suggested that the KP government should “attack Adiala Jail” to free Imran Khan.

According to the DG ISPR, this statement was immediately amplified by Afghan-based extremist networks, PTI’s foreign facilitators, and Indian media to fuel chaos inside Pakistan.

He warned that such statements form part of a coordinated campaign targeting Pakistan’s institutions, orchestrated with the support of anti-state elements. “Indian channels and foreign groups are actively interfering in Pakistan’s internal affairs by promoting divisive narratives,” he said.

### **“Who Are You and Whose Language Are You Speaking?”**

He sharply criticized the individual driving this anti-state narrative, questioning: “Who are you, and whose language are you speaking? You think you alone know everything and everyone else is wrong.”

The DG ISPR said this person repeatedly references Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in his posts. “He has a provincial government, yet never speaks about issues affecting the province. His entire focus is on attacking the military.”

### **Propaganda on Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Notification**

Speaking about the CDF notification, the DG ISPR said that a “flood of lies” was deliberately spread. “Is this freedom of expression? Every military-related issue was exploited for propaganda.”

He added that a false narrative was also created calling for negotiations with militant groups. “Just three days ago, he again demanded that operations against Khawarij militants be stopped,” the spokesperson said. “By that logic, if India attacked, he would go out begging for talks.”

### **Defending the State**

He called the individual’s rhetoric “the chatter of a mentally disturbed person” who encourages people to create chaos and stand against counterterrorism operations. “We know exactly what is happening, why it is happening, and who is behind it. The business of lies will no longer be allowed to continue.”

The DG ISPR reaffirmed the military’s commitment: “We have sworn to defend this state. Anyone who thinks they are bigger than Pakistan is mistaken. We will remain on the side of the truth.”

### **CDF Headquarters Operational**

Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif congratulated the nation on the appointment of the Chief of Defence Forces and said the new CDF headquarters has become operational, providing comprehensive oversight on evolving warfare.

He dismissed speculation about governor’s rule, saying such decisions rest solely with the government. “The Army has nothing to do with it.”

### **Indian Media as PTI’s Mouthpiece**

He said Indian media routinely amplifies PTI narratives, adding that even the KP Chief Minister’s statements appear prominently on Indian channels. “India and Afghanistan’s social media networks push this narrative for their own motives.”

The DG ISPR noted that state institutions exist to regulate social media and counter such campaigns.

### **May 9 Cases Completed in Military Courts**

Regarding the May 9 cases, he clarified that military courts have disposed of all cases forwarded to them. “May 9 is not the Army’s case; it is the case of the Pakistani nation.”
