Judicial Commission Approves Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb as Permanent Supreme Court Judge

Islamabad: The Judicial Commission of Pakistan has approved the appointment of Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb as a permanent judge of the Supreme Court.

According to sources, the commission’s meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Justice Yahya Afridi. Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb, who had been serving as a special judge for the past year, was endorsed for permanent elevation to the apex court.

Sources added that Justice Muneeb Akhtar opposed the move to appoint Justice Aurangzeb as a permanent Supreme Court judge, while the remaining members supported the appointment.

During the meeting, the commission also approved the appointment of Acting Chief Justice of the Sindh High Court, Justice Zafar Ahmed Rajput, as the permanent Chief Justice. Additionally, Justice Muhammad Kamran Mulakhail was unanimously recommended for appointment as the permanent Chief Justice of the Balochistan High Court.

Both high court appointments were approved with full consensus.
