Major Progress as PTI Leaders, Family Allowed to Meet Imran Khan in Adiala Jail After 29 Days

Rawalpindi: A significant development occurred today as PTI founder Imran Khan is set to meet with family members, lawyers, and party leaders at Adiala Jail, 29 days after the last approved meeting. To ensure security, Section 144 has been imposed, and strict measures have been implemented around the jail. All educational institutions and shops along Adiala Road have been closed for the day.
The PTI has submitted a list of six lawyer-leaders to jail authorities, including Chairman PTI Barrister Gohar Khan, Salman Akram Raja, Barrister Salman Safdar, Ali Zaman, Sardar Nabi, and Talat Mahmood. Imran Khan’s sisters are also expected to visit for the meeting, along with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister, Sohail Afridi. All PTI members of the National and Provincial Assemblies have been instructed to reach Adiala Jail.
**Security Measures Enforced**
The district administration has imposed Section 144 in Rawalpindi for three days, banning all political and religious gatherings. Security around Adiala Jail has been heightened, with five additional check posts established on Adiala Jail Road. A special security plan has been activated, deploying over 700 police officers and personnel, including SHO officers from 12 police stations and female officers. Officers are equipped with anti-riot gear, and vehicles will be allowed to proceed only after thorough checks. Violations of Section 144 will be met with strict legal action.
**Closure of Educational Institutions and Markets**
All private educational institutions in Gorakhpur and surrounding areas remain closed, and local traders have been instructed to keep markets shut for the day. Multiple checkpoints, including Dahel Naka, Gate One, Gate Five, Factory Naka, and Gorakhpur, have been set up to monitor movement and maintain law and order.
These measures aim to ensure the safety of both Imran Khan and visitors, as well as maintain peace and order in the surrounding areas during the high-profile meeting.
