We Prefer Faisal Karim Kundi to Continue as KP Governor: Faisal Vawda

**Islamabad:** Senator Faisal Vawda has said that their preference is for Faisal Karim Kundi to continue serving as the Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Speaking to the media outside Parliament House, Vawda said he had earlier warned that if threats were made for November 26, there would be consequences.

He stated that all efforts should focus on ensuring the KP Chief Minister fulfils his responsibilities. “If the Chief Minister cannot perform his duties, then the option of Governor’s Rule is not just a possibility — it will happen,” he remarked.

Vawda reiterated that they want Faisal Karim Kundi to remain in office. “If another name is chosen, it cannot be a political one. We have no objection to his name. If he still wishes to meet the founder of PTI, he can keep hitting the wall — nothing will come of it.”

He further said the only viable path for resolving political issues is through Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari. “The Field Marshal is present, and the command rests with him. The notification will be issued sooner or later. The CDF has nothing to do with politics,” he stressed.

Commenting on Nawaz Sharif’s recent statement and his appearance in the Assembly, Vawda said it clearly showed support for the government. He warned the KP Chief Minister that after the High Court’s order, even a small mistake could lead to his disqualification.

“We do not want Governor’s Rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,” he said. “But if you insist on disorder, lawlessness, or hooliganism, then we will be left with no other option. Meeting President Zardari and PM Shehbaz will resolve their issues.”

Vawda added that “the key to every problem lies with President Asif Ali Zardari.” He also stated that the founder of PTI’s sisters are respectable to him and that many people, including himself, have given interviews.

When asked whether action could be taken against General Bajwa or former chief justice Saqib Nisar, he responded, “Whatever has not happened in the past 75 years will not happen in the next 75 years either.”
