Federal Constitutional Court Schedules Hearing in Journalist Arshad Sharif Murder Case

Islamabad: The Federal Constitutional Court has scheduled a hearing in the murder case of Pakistani journalist Arshad Sharif.
A two-member bench comprising Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Rozi Khan will hear the case on December 3. The Supreme Court had earlier taken suo motu notice of the high-profile killing.
Following the 27th Constitutional Amendment, all suo motu cases have been transferred to the Federal Constitutional Court for adjudication.
Arshad Sharif was shot dead on October 23, 2022, by police on the Magadi Highway in Nairobi, Kenya. Kenyan police initially termed the incident a case of “mistaken identity,” but subsequent investigations revealed contradictions in their statements and account of the events.
The upcoming hearing is expected to review progress in the investigation and address unresolved questions surrounding the journalist’s killing.
