Bushra Bibi Faced Gunfire on November 26, Claims Sister Maryam Riaz Wattoo

Islamabad:** Maryam Riaz Wattoo, sister of former First Lady Bushra Bibi, has issued a detailed statement on social media regarding the events of November 26 last year and the circumstances surrounding Bushra Bibi during the political protests.

In her post, Maryam recounted the November 26 protest, stating that her sister acted strictly on the instructions of Imran Khan and did not abandon the ground despite life-threatening risks. According to her, Bushra Bibi traveled for nearly two consecutive days on Imran Khan’s directions and reached Islamabad on November 26, after which she refused to return, considering it a violation of his instructions.

Maryam claimed that Bushra Bibi came under **gunfire** that night but remained with party workers despite the danger, while “several so-called leaders disappeared from the scene.”

She further alleged that Bushra Bibi was **forcibly removed** from the area that same night and was not allowed to use her phone for two days. Maryam said this was done to prevent Bushra Bibi’s message from reaching the public.

She added that she spent the entire night waiting anxiously for a call or message from her sister, having been informed only that Bushra Bibi had come under fire. However, she knew Bushra Bibi was not someone who would flee the scene.

According to Maryam, the next day an impression was created that Bushra Bibi would hold a press conference, which she dismissed as false, saying that if Bushra Bibi had access to her phone, she would have contacted her family first.

Maryam concluded by praying that “God never forgives those who remained close to Imran Khan yet played a shameful game against Bushra Bibi,” expressing hope that justice will eventually be restored in Pakistan and the responsible individuals will be brought before the courts.
