Pakistan Has Taken Off After Being Saved from Bankruptcy, Says Nawaz Sharif

Lahore (Qudrat Daily) — Former Prime Minister and PML-N President **Nawaz Sharif** has said that his party’s government saved Pakistan from bankruptcy within 18 months, and the country is now “on a take-off trajectory.” He added that the founder of PTI was not the only one responsible for the national crisis — “those who brought him are even bigger culprits.”

Addressing newly elected Members of the National Assembly in Lahore, Nawaz Sharif said that by the grace of Allah, “lies, abuse, misconduct, and chaos have been defeated.” He asserted that government measures have successfully reduced inflation.

He said the PTI founder was not the sole wrongdoer: “Those who installed him are the real criminals. They must be held fully accountable. His narrative of calling others thieves and robbers was a lie, while he himself was leading in corruption.”

Sharif highlighted the performance of his party leaders, saying, **“I achieved major milestones during my tenure, but Shehbaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz have surpassed me.”** He praised ongoing initiatives, including free medicines, new hospitals, laptops and scholarships for students, Green Bus services across Punjab, improved law and order, ration cards, and strong government performance during the floods.

The PML-N leader said inflation was only **3%** during his tenure, while the previous government brought the country to the brink of collapse and promoted a culture of indecency and disorder. He credited the federal and Punjab governments for “record-breaking public service” over the past 18 months.

Sharif also lamented Pakistan’s limited sovereignty in decision-making, stating, “Many of our decisions are not in our own hands. They handed over national choices to outsiders.” He said the government has set records in economic recovery and prevented Pakistan from defaulting.

Reflecting on the past, Nawaz Sharif said, “In 2017, Pakistan was progressing rapidly. Had that momentum continued, our nation would have held a strong position globally today.” He added that the people voted PML-N back into power because of its performance.
